Number One Observatory Circle

Number One Observatory Circle is the official residence of the Vice President of the United States of America. The building is located in the north-eastern area of the site of the United States Naval Observatory in Washington DC; it was built in 1893 for its then leader. 1974 agreed to the Congress for the reconstruction of the official residence of the Vice President.

Before this time, the respective Vice Presidents were living in their own homes; However, the costs of protection were too high by the constant change of office holders and their homes. Although the house was in 1974 for its new purpose available, took another three years to a vice-president moved there. The first, who lived there, was Walter Mondale. Since then, each Vice President lives in the house, currently Joe Biden.
