The Libyan language (also altlibysch or numidisch ) is a hitherto largely unintelligible language or group of languages , which is occupied from the 3rd century BC to the 3rd century AD in large parts of North Africa and as a precursor the Berber languages is considered. Although the Libyan font used for the transcript of Libyan inscriptions is largely unreadable and several bilingual texts are received, the Libyan language remains essentially incomprehensible. The research assumes that it represents an early form of Berber languages. Apart from the spatial coincidence this also speak Libyan names, words and morphemes that have been proposed for the Berber interpretations.
