Nunt

Nunt denotes a candy of the Jewish cuisine. The candy is served particularly to the Jewish festival of Purim, when it is customary to gift neighbors and friends with selbstverfertigten goodies. Nunt is traditionally made of a dark forest honey, which is boiled together with sugar and lifted among the roughly crumbled walnuts. The finished Nunt is painted on a moist, smooth board or an oiled marble slab and cut after cooling in small diamonds.

Nunt variants consist of poppy seeds and walnuts, or the honey is mixed with ginger or sesame.
