Nuorgam

Nuorgam [ nuo̯rgɑm ] ( Northern Sami Njuorggán ) is the northernmost village in Finland. It lies on the Norwegian-Finnish border river Teno ( Tana norweg. ) and belongs to the municipality in the province of Lapland Utsjoki. The northernmost point of Finland and the European Union is Nuorgam. The village has around 250 inhabitants.

Nuorgam 47 km from the municipal center of Utsjoki. In Nuorgam a border crossing to Norway. In the village there is a station of the Border Guard, a chapel, a primary school, two grocery stores, a tank and repair, also known as cafe, post office (zip code 99990 ) and highly restricted Pharmacy ( lääkekaappi = medicine cabinet ) is used, a pub and a branch of the alcohol monopoly Alko. The inhabitants of Nuorgam live mainly from tourism and from cross-border trade: because of the low prices buy many Norwegians in Nuorgam one.
