Nurul Amin

Nurul Amin ( Urdu نور الامین; * July 15, 1893 in the village Shahbazpur, Brahmanbaria, British India, † October 2, 1974 in Rawalpindi, Pakistan ) was a Pakistani politician. In December 1971 he was prime minister in Pakistan.

Work

Nurul Amin was after the breakup of the Indian subcontinent 1947 / 48-1952 Chief Minister ( Chief Minister ) of East Pakistan, now Bangladesh. In the parliamentary elections in 1970, he conquered as the only non - member of the victorious Awami League a seat in the total National Assembly. Amin was from 1971 until his death in the United Coalition Party, which he was president at the same time.

Prime minister

On December 8, 1971, the then- Pakistani President Yahya Khan Nurul Amin appointed as prime minister and asked him to form together with the Chairman of the West Pakistan People's Party, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Cabinet. End of the Presidency

After the West Pakistani soldiers surrendered on 15 December 1971, the administration had already cease their activities. President Yahya Khan resigned and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was sworn in as the new president and military administrator. Amin rejected the adoption of the premiership from, as a result of the loss of East Pakistan and so these items remained until 1973 again vacant, instead he was deputy Bhutto.
