Nusbaum

Nusbaum is a municipality in the district of Bitburg -Prüm, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality New Castle. Nusbaum is a nationally recognized tourist.

Geography

The municipality is located in South Eifel nature. To Nusbaum also includes the hamlet Freilingen, Freilingen height, Nusbaumerhöhe, Rohrbach, Silberberg and Stockigt.

History

The first dated documentary mention for the district Nusbaum is from the year 1317. But after an undated Echternach procession directory that comes Scripture according to the 12th century, Nushem belonged together with the neighboring villages Mette village, Lahr, Peffingen, Stockem, Holsthum, Schankweiler, Kruchten, bed Willingen, Willingen Frenk, Oberweis and Utscheid to those villages that were committed with other churches of the western Eifel on the Thursday after Pentecost procession to Echternach.

Freilingen was named in 1364 under the name Vrilingen first time. Both villages belonged to the end of the 18th century in the county of Vianden Duchy of Luxembourg ( district Vianden ). Nusbaum was the capital of a dairy farm.

In 1794, French revolutionary troops had the Austrian Netherlands, which included the Duchy of Luxembourg, occupied and annexed in October 1795. From 1795 to 1814 the town belonged to the canton of Vianden in the forests department. Nusbaum was the seat of a Mairie. In 1815, the former Luxembourg territory east of the Sauer and the Our was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna. Thus, the community came Nusbaum 1816 Bitburg in the Trier region in the province of the Grand Duchy of the Lower Rhine, which merged in 1822 in the Rhine Province. Nusbaum was the official residence of the mayor of the same name, which included the then independent municipality Freilingen and the community Hüttingen.

After World War II temporarily occupied by the French, the place is since 1946 part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded.

Today's church was established on June 7, 1969 by recharge from the dissolved municipalities Freilingen (195 inhabitants) and Nusbaum (345 inhabitants).
