The Ervin J. Nutter Center (short Nutter Center ) is an up to 12,000 -seat multi-purpose arena on the campus of Wright State University in Fairborn, a suburb of Dayton, Ohio.

Use history

Since its opening in December 1990, the Arena home of the Wright State Raiders basketball team of Wright State University. In addition, the Dayton Bombers of the ECHL from 1996 contributed from their home games at Nutter Center before the Ice Hockey franchise ceased the operation of gambling in 2009.

Moreover, in the Arena various events of World Wrestling Entertainment took place, such as the King of the Ring tournament in 1993, the Special WWE vs. ECW Head to Head in 2006 or different recordings of the shows RAW and Smackdown. In the years 1993, 1995, 1996, 1997 and 2001, the stadium hosted the NCAA basketball championship of the Midwestern Collegiate Conference, now the Horizon League. 2007 took the championship for the first time under the new Conference name in Fairborn instead.

In addition, over the years were diverse artists as Kelly Clarkson, Reba McEntire, Dierks Bentley, Darius Rucker and Billy Joel at the Nutter Center. In the wake of the U.S. presidential election campaign in 2008 also found events of candidates Barack Obama and John McCain in Arena. On 29 August 2008 Sarah Palin was thereby presented in Nutter Center officially as McCain's vice presidential candidate.
