Nydri

Nidri (Greek Νυδρί (n. sg. ), Also transcribed as Nidri ) is a village of 1,199 inhabitants ( 2011) on the Greek island of Lefkada in the Ionian Sea.

Location

Nidri is located approximately in the center on the east coast of Lefkada. Upstream are the Tilevoides ( Taphische Islands) and in the south, named after the place Geni peninsula. Transport is available to the south of the island to Vasiliki and north to Lefkada over the Greek National Road 42

Past

The remains of a settlement site yielded an excavation of the German archaeologist Wilhelm Dörpfeld at the beginning of the 20th century.
