Nynäs Castle

The Nynas castle is located in the Swedish municipality Trosa near the Baltic coast.

History

The land on which the castle stands, was a manor in the 14th century. It is believed that the present main building was built around 1650 Erik Gyllenstierna. Its present appearance of the manor around 1860. With its steep gabled roof, the castle looks more like a building of the late Middle Ages or the Renaissance to the Baroque style of the 17th century. Among the known owners of the goods to Bo Jonsson Grip Empire Drost found in the 14th century, the noble family Gyllenstierna in the 17th century and the Stockholm City Council Johan August Gripenstedt around 1860. The last private owner was Baron Johan Gripenstedt. He sold the castle and its surroundings in 1984 by the province Södermanland County. The inventory was bought completely from the state art museums. During the summer months the Castle interested visitors will be shown. The associated fields are managed by the province 's agricultural school.

Facility
