Nyord

Nyord a Danish island north of the island of Møn is located at the Steger bay. The island is 3.8 km long and 2.3 km wide and has 41 inhabitants (1 January 2013) in an area of 4.99 km ². On the south coast, the island has a small boat harbor. Since 1968, the island is connected to Møn over a dam with a bridge to the peninsula Ulvshale.

The island forms a separate parish church, Nyord Sogn, which belonged to Harde Mønbo Herred in the former Præstø office until 1970, then to the Mon community in the then Storstrøms Office, which merged with the municipal reform on 1 January 2007 in Vordingborg commune in the Region Sjælland is.
