History

The settlement of the area of ​​today's Oak Park is detectable for the year 1822, mentioned by name, the city is the first time in 1840. The first citizen count for the detection of a village community was in 1927. A second citizen count for the detection of a city status took place on 26 of October 1945.

Oak Park is home to six steel plants of the Lustron Company from the early 1950's.
