Oatlands Palace

Oatlands Palace is a noble residence, which was used by both the Tudors and the Stuarts as a royal castle. It is located near the village of Oatlands between Weybridge and Walton on Thames in Surrey, England. Oatlands Palace was the venue for the marriage between Henry VIII and his fifth wife, Catherine Howard. Henry VIII had purchased the castle in 1538 and it rebuilt for Anne of Cleves.

Of the original building has remained little get. 1964 excavations were carried out in order to grasp the enormity of this former castle. Today you will find at the site of the Royal Castle a luxury hotel.
