Obama (Fukui)
Obama (Japanese小 浜 市, -shi, dt "little beach " ) is a city in Fukui Prefecture, Japan.
Geography
Obama is just south of Fukui and north of Kyoto on the Wakasa Bay.
History
The city of Obama was founded on 15 January 1955.
Tourism
The city supported Obama in 2008, the candidacy of U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama. They hoped thereby positive impact on the tourism business. Numerous media reported in February 2008 on behalf of kinship.
Attractions
In Obama is the Kuin Temple (空 印 寺, Kuin -ji) which is close to a cave is located, which is considered the place of death of Happyaku Bikuni.
