Obama Line

The Obama Line (Japanese小 浜 线, Obama - sen) is a railway line to the sea coast in central Japan. It is operated by the West Japan Railway Company ( JR West).

It has the name of the city of Obama, whose station is located in the central part of the route.

The single-track railway line 84.3 km long connects the railway station in Tsuruga - there following the Hokuriku Main Line - and the train station Higashi- Maizuru Maizuru - there following the Maizuru line. Intermediate stops are various stations in Mihama, Wakasa, Obama, Ōi and Takahama lie in the middle of the track.

The electrification of the line was completed on 15 March 2003.
