The community lies in the Westerwald between Montabaur and Limburg an der Lahn.

History

Obererbach was first mentioned in documents as Erlebach in 1290.

The coat of arms description reads: "Through wave cut diagonally (right) of red and silver split. Top seven standing together in an irregular height hexagonal silver basalt columns. Below is a zweiblättriger red alder branch with two right-wing red fruit stalls ".
