Oberhain
Oberhain is a municipality in the district Saalfeld- Rudolstadt ( Thuringia).
Geography
Oberhain and its districts are on a sparsely wooded plateau between the Schwarzadal in the south and in the north Rinnetal. Oberhain is located on Hädderbach, which rises west of the 665 meter high Barigauer height and east of the village in the Schwarza opens.
The neighboring communities of Oberhain are clockwise starting in the north: Königsee Rottenbach, Allendorf, seat village, Unterweißenbach, Melle -Glasbach and Dröbischau.
The community Oberhain consists of four districts (up to June 30, 1950 independent municipalities ):
- Barigau
- Mankenbach
- Oberhain
- Unterhain
Between Oberhain, Barigau and Lichta lay the deserted village Tanndorf, which seems to have been destroyed in 1447 but already in the Saxon Brother War.
History
Oberhain was first mentioned in 1370 as Obirn Hayn documented. In earlier time, especially mining was carried out. There was thus in Oberhain the pit Güldene Church, in what is now the district Mankenbach there was an ironworks and in Unterhain gained particular importance Fuhrwesen. In the 19th century the Olitätenhandel was an important industry in the towns.

Policy
The municipality belongs to the administrative community median Schwarzatal, which has its administrative headquarters in the municipality seat village.
The honorary mayor Egon Langguth was elected on 2 September 2012.
Economy and Transport
The ambient upper grove is used for agriculture, the location of the addition has also tourism. Roads connect Oberhain with Allendorf, Unterweißenbach and Dröbischau.
