Geography

The integrated municipality in the southeastern Lower Saxony near the border with Saxony -Anhalt is located in the Upper Harz Mountains at an altitude of approximately 400-800 m above sea level. NN. Within their territory, is the largest part of the Upper Harz Water Regale.

Economy and infrastructure

Economy

Tourism is an important economic activity in the Upper Harz, which since the early 1990s for various reasons but declined.
