History

Archaeological finds show that already years ago, about 600,000 have visited the municipality hunters and gatherers. It is believed that Neanderthals have lived from approximately 90000-40000 BC in the House of Lords mountains and there are finds from the Neolithic Age (about 5000 BC). In today's district Valparc was found homes that were used 725-450 BC.

In Gallo-Roman times Oberhausbergen was settled. An aqueduct ran from Kuttolsheim to Strasbourg and passed it Oberhausbergen. 357 the battle of Argentoratum took place there. In the fields around the town they found many Roman coins. With the decline of the Roman Empire ( from 406 ) archaeological finds are rare, these rare finds, however, indicate that the site was inhabited in the Merovingian period.

763 the city was mentioned in documents for the first time as Hugesperg. It belonged to the Duchy of Swabia. In the 10th century bishop Richwin Oberhausbergen Thomas gave the pen in Strasbourg.

On March 8, 1262, the troops of the bishop of Walter Geroldseck was defeated in the House of Lords mountains. He was Seigneur of Strasbourg, but lay with the citizens of the city during the war.

From the 15th century until the French Revolution was Oberhausbergen fief of the anger family of Plobsheim.

1646 burned down the church, but it is not known whether this was a consequence of the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648 ) or an accident.

Before the French Revolution, the village had 290 inhabitants. The Cahiers de Doléances (complaint issues) of Upper House Mountains are a rarity. Only a few of these books have been preserved in the Bas- Rhin. 1789, the City Council has been established. The first mayor of the city was Michel Lobstein. Until 1835 the House of Lords Bergen was the capital of the canton of the same name.
