Oberhofen is a municipality in the administrative district of Thun in the canton of Bern in Switzerland.

The name Oberhofen consists of the Old High German adjective above and the generic word hof ( courtyard farmstead ). The addition of " Lake Thun " is used to distinguish it from other places of the same name. First mentioned in historical documents, in 1133, with Seilgerus de Obrenhoven.

The landmark of the village is the Oberhofen Castle. In Oberhofen is the headquarters of the International Ski Federation, the Fédération Internationale de Ski.

Oberhofen is served by bus routes 21 (Thun -Interlaken Ost), 22 ( Hangbus Hünibach / Oberhofen ), 24 ( Oberhofen - Aeschlen - Schwanden - Sigriswil ), 25 (Thun - Gunten - Sigriswil Eilkurs ) of the transport companies STI. The line 21 replaced the trains running 1952-1982 trolleybus Thun- Beatenbucht.
