Oberkorn

Upper grain ( Luxembourgish Uewerkuer, French Obercorn ), is a village in the municipality of Differdange Esch -Alzette in the canton in Luxembourg. It has about 3000 inhabitants and has an outdoor swimming pool.

History

Differdange in 1907 was the title of city conferred by the Grand Duke. The community Differdange consisted of the four villages Differdange, Upper, Niederkorn and Lasauvage since the beginning of the 19th century. The Fousbann district developed only gradually in the 20th century and considers the settlements Cité Henry Grey, the Cité Kauffmann. Below the Ronneberges and Kiemrichs ( Kiemreech ) south of upper particle was located from 1871 to 1920, the three countries of Luxembourg, the German Empire and France.

Meaning of the name

The names of Upper and Lower grain grain coming from the Meuse- flow grain, which originates in the upper grain and also flows through Niederkorn.
