Obermünster, Regensburg

Pin Obermünster is a former Kanonissenstift in Regensburg in Bavaria, in the diocese of Regensburg.

History

The Assumption consecrated pen was probably in the late 8th century by Duke Tassilo III. or founded in the early 9th century by the dynasty of the Carolingians. Unique documentary evidence is lacking. 1010 was enhanced by Henry II through donations and granting of privileges, but his position as Reich pin remained controversial. 1216 imperial immediacy was confirmed and strengthened by Frederick II. The kingdom pin was dissolved in 1810 in the wake of secularization. Until 1822 retreat of the last of the Canon, it was then clerics seminar. 1882, the Episcopal Seminary of St. Wolfgang study was set up in the buildings. In March 1945, bombs destroyed the church with the exception of the free-standing tower and part of the monastery building. After the war, the Bishop's Central Archives, the Library, part of the Diocese of museums and other services of the diocese were housed in the buildings. In the wartime ruins of the church of Regensburg Scout each year to receive the Light of Peace from Bethlehem.
