  • Parish Church of St Nicholas:

After already in 1339 a small church of St. Nicholas is mentioned, the late Baroque parish church of St. Nicholas was built in 1760. In 1834 it received its characteristic onion dome. The architecture is derived by Johann Umhauser, who was an employee of the spiritual building director Franz de Paula Penz. The Malkünstler and plasterer Joseph polluters, who designed among others, the churches of St. Jodok am Brenner, Mittenwald and Oberammergau, was responsible for the decoration of the church. The decorated in rococo style pulpit comes from, as well as the construction of the altar and the statues, the ideas of Johann Perger from Stilfes. The ceiling frescoes and the altarpiece of the main altar are from the hand of Christoph Anton Mayr from Schwaz. The Stations of the Cross were designed by Josef Strasser 1850. Thanks to its embedded on a moraine in the valley position, in the background the massif of Tribulaun, and its architectural style is the church one of the most sought after photo opportunities Tyrol.

Coat of arms

The awarded in 1973 by the Tyrolean Regional Government coat of arms shows in red two golden cones and a king with a crown in the three- ball. The three golden cone refer to the legend of the golden bowling game that is supposed to be buried in the rattle of stone and is guarded by the mountain king. The true core of the saga are probably the natural resources of the Tribulaun.
