Oberndorf, Rhineland-Palatinate

Oberndorf is a municipality in the Thunder Mountain district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Alsenz - Obermoschel.

Geographical location

The place is in Alsenz Valley north of the Palatinate Forest. To the north is Alsenz, in the south Mannenweiler - Coelln. To Oberndorf includes the living space Lindenhof.

History

Oberndorf was first mentioned in 1128 in records. Already 775 but was mentioned in connection with Alsenz the Upper Village.

Parish council

The local council in Oberndorf consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 a personalized proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman. The six seats in the municipal council are divided into two groups of voters. In the previous election in 2004, a majority vote was held.

Culture and sights

Landmark of Oberndorf is the simultaneous Church of St. Valentin, the proven already existed in 1128.

Economy and infrastructure

Through the village runs the B 48 via the A63 to the east is connected to the long-distance transport. Nearest train stop is the Alsenz station on the Alsenztalbahn.
