Geography

Oberschrot lies at 850 m above sea level. M., 12 km southeast of the capital of the canton of Fribourg (air line). The village is located on the left side of the northern Tütschbaches, directly across from Plaffeien, west of the upper scythe, in the hills on the northern edge of the Fribourg Pre-Alps.

Population

History

With the naming of Ried in 1148 first appeared in a village on the current communal land in the documents. The area was later Priory Rüeggisberg and the Lords of Englisberg.
