History

Obertaufkirchen belonged to Rentamt Landshut and the Neumarkt district court of the Electorate of Bavaria. Means the chairman shaft Obertaufkirchen practiced the archbishopric Salzburg until its abolition in 1803 of the lower courts about his local subjects. In the few meters to the northeast hamlet Hohenthann a well once impressive castle as the Wening stitch from 1710 was shown there that are already in ruins.

Building

  • The Catholic parish church of St. Martin and Magdalena in Obertaufkirchen. The great house of God unites a remarkable amount of various styles. Even from the first stone building in the Romanesque style, dating back to 1150 are obtained visible areas (eg portal ), as well as from the late Gothic successor, who came in the form from 1450.
