History
Obertaufkirchen belonged to Rentamt Landshut and the Neumarkt district court of the Electorate of Bavaria. Means the chairman shaft Obertaufkirchen practiced the archbishopric Salzburg until its abolition in 1803 of the lower courts about his local subjects. In the few meters to the northeast hamlet Hohenthann a well once impressive castle as the Wening stitch from 1710 was shown there that are already in ruins.

Attractions
Building
- The Catholic parish church of St. Martin and Magdalena in Obertaufkirchen. The great house of God unites a remarkable amount of various styles. Even from the first stone building in the Romanesque style, dating back to 1150 are obtained visible areas (eg portal ), as well as from the late Gothic successor, who came in the form from 1450. The Baroque style, rococo design was followed to 1777. 1910-11 came it by building in an increase in the range front nave and choir, which came in neo-Baroque style for execution.
