Oblation (legal)
Oblation is a term of the legal system and refers to the voluntary assumption of a legal obligation or transfer of title.
In the " oblatio Feudi ", the so-called Lehnsauftragung, the owner transferred a possessed thing as free property (castle, domination, etc. ) to another, in order to then from this feudal lords, who had thus become the legal owner, as a fief recover.
From a " oblatio litis " is when someone takes a lawsuit as a defendant, without being the actual defendant.
