In the season 1989 /90 Obradoiro CAB qualified for the Ascension Play-off, failed there but at Juver Murcia. This meeting should have legal consequences, because the team from Murcia put the Argentines Esteban Pérez one with a fake ID as a Spaniard. The sporting bodies strongly against the Galicians and so Juver Murcia rose to the ACB league. While the first team of Obradoiro CAB relegation in the result to the Regionalliga, the club fought in court for further inclusion in the ACB league. The case went to the Supreme Court, which gave 2003 Obradoiro law in the summer, however, the League Association now demanded the admission fee of around 3 million euros to take part in the top division. Again Obradoiro went before the court to pay only the prescribed amount in 1990 of around 600,000 euros must. On 27 November 2007, the club also got right here, and on 15 June 2009, 19 years after the polemical play-off, Obradoiro was that at the time played only in the regional league, enrolled in the ACB league.

The first season ended, the club on the 17th and last place and consequently dismounted in the LEB Oro. In the season 2010/11 Obradoiro succeeded in the regular season second place, in the Ascension Play-off they sat down in the final with a 3-1 win against Ford Burgos, reaching the resurgence in the ACB league.
