Obrint Pas

( Pave the way for Catalan or even some free We clear the way ) Obrint Pas is a six-member music group from Valencia. The musical style is a mix of ska and punk with strong influences from the Catalan folklore. The lyrics are in the Catalan language and usually have a political background.

Band History

Obrint Pas was founded in 1993 in Valencia, after 1994 they released their first demo. In the following years played Obrint Pas at various festivals, while in 1997 their debut album La revolta de l'anima appeared. In 2000, then followed Obrint Pas, which was first marketed by the record label Propaganda pel Fet. The next albums Terra (2003) and La Flama (2004) helped Obrint Pas to international prominence so that they, among other things occurred in Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland. This appeared in 2005 live album En Moviment was dedicated to the ten years before the late Ovidi Montllor and reached the only katalanischsprachiges album a place among the top 20 best-selling albums in Spain. In addition to a live CD, a DVD, the album contains among others with a recording of a concert on 30 April 2005 in Valencia with more than 10,000 spectators. Early in 2006, their "Inter Nacionalista Tour" with performances in Germany, Switzerland, England, in Sardinia, in the Basque country, France, Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Argentina and Chile.
