Observational study

As an observational study is referred to most often a patient-related data collection in the health sector, such as the regular use of drugs in therapy. In observational studies, no experiments and no additional studies are conducted. They are usually created as purely explorative studies to generate hypotheses, or - restricted - for estimating the validity of hypotheses. As an observational study, a non-interventional study is always to have a lower significance than a randomized clinical trial.
