OC Transpo

OC Transpo is the public transport operator of the state capital of Canada, Ottawa. The company uses buses, a bus rapid transit network ( Transitway ), as well as rail vehicles. The Company connects Ottawa with Gatineau. Every day, an average of about 370,000 vehicles by OC Transpo.

History

Ottawa 's first public transport began in 1886 with horse-drawn carriages. The horse-drawn lines plying between New Edinburgh and the Chaudière Bridge. The horse-drawn carriage business was operated until 1981, after Thomas Ahearn founded the Ottawa Electric Railway Company. Tariff

OC Transpo is located in a collective communion with the Société de transport de l' Outaouais ( STO) from neighboring Gatineau. Tickets are mutually recognized. Depots
