Ocala National Forest

The Ocala National Forest is a National Forest in the central northern U.S. state of Florida, in the United States. It lies north of the city of Orlando between the rivers of the Ocklawaha and St. Johns. The Ocala National Forest extends over the counties Lake County, Marion County and Putnam County, where the majority of the National Forest is located in Marion County. The National Forest covers an area of 1550 square kilometers. It was founded in 1908 and is managed by the United States Forest Service.

Nature

In the Ocala National Forest, there is the largest contiguous sand pine deposits in the world. A high water resources shapes the National Forest, which is home to more than 600 lakes, rivers and springs.

Crime

The Ocala National Forest is in the past decade become again a playground for criminals such as serial killers, rapists and drug addicts and other criminal nature. 2006 because of an initiative of the U.S. government's eviction action on a large scale was carried out.
