Ocean Village (company)
Ocean Village was between 2003 and 2010 a trading name of Carnival Corporation & plc cruise deals on the English-speaking European market.
Carnival plc, the British part company of the Group, based in Southampton, England continued, as the owner and operator of the vessels Ocean Village and Ocean Village Two on the global success story great freedom and flexibility in food, clothing and entertainment on board. About the range which also served by her, but still traditional - formally perceived cruise brands Cunard Line and P & O Cruises addition, a wider audience at the age of 30 to 50 years, and especially families should also be addressed in the UK market.
After the group to abandon the brand decision, Carnival plc moved the ships to new routes to Australia and operates since then under the brand P & O Cruises Australia.
History
The brand was introduced in 2003 and with a ship of the same name launched in the same year a first cruise under the slogan "the cruise for people who do not do cruises " ( in German: " The cruise for people who do not cruising " ). The ship had hitherto been for several years under the name of Arcadia in use, but was then renovated and freshly painted for the new brand from almost pure white of the P & O Cruises with lively orange and red bows.
From the spring of 2007 moved a second ship to the colors of Ocean Village. The delivery of several new ships for the German brand AIDA Cruises, enabled the Group to AIDAblu which over long periods largest ship in the AIDA fleet to deduct from there for a new task. Under the name of Ocean Village Two, she went from 24 April 2007, during the summer in the Mediterranean and winter in the Caribbean on a cruise.
On October 30, 2008 Carnival announced that adjust the Ocean Village brand by the end of 2010. The ships should be moved to Australia and used there under the brand P & O Cruises Australia. The Ocean Village Two joined the brand in December 2009, the Ocean Village followed as announced in late 2010.
