Öcher Schängche

The Aachen City Puppenbühne " Öcher Schängche " ( founded in 1921 by Will Hermanns and others) is a traditional rod puppetry. The Öcher Schängche is also the main character of the game. Their repertoire includes next fairy tale adaptations, Aachen tales and other children's plays and plays for adults, including detective stories and a carnival held annually Doll Carnival session. As language is a mixture of the Aachen dialect Oecher Platt and High German is used in connection for each is but understandable. The stage is located in the cultural center Barockfabrik.

Regardless of the promotion of the Aachen dialect and the figure of Öcher Schängche the support group Öcher Schängche eV organizes since 2008 the world's first Aachener Stock Dolls Cabaret pitch & sulfur in High German. Ideas and texts were written by the well-known using the Aachen region and beyond cabaret Wendelin Haverkamp.
