Ochratoxin

Ochratoxins are a group of mycotoxins (mold toxins ). The corresponding molds are widely distributed in nature, for example, some Aspergillus and Penicillium species such as A. ochraceus or P. verrucosum.

Ochratoxin A (OTA ) is the most common and important of ochratoxin.

Ochratoxin A

OTA is usually already formed during plant growth, but no later than during storage. It is mainly found in cereals, pulses, coffee, beer, grape juice, raisins, and wine, cocoa products, nuts and spices.

Ochratoxin A is often associated with citrinin and other mycotoxins.

Ochratoxin A causes kidney disease and activity in rats and mice carcinogenic.

Analytic methods in feed may be used with high performance liquid chromatography fluorescence detector, previously carried out a purification on immunoaffinity columns.
