Ochrea

The Ochrea or Tute is one by the transformation of the lower sheet, usually membranous tube which surrounds the base of the stalk following link. Knotweed form a Ochrea as an example.

Was the phrase used for the first time in 1798 by Carl Ludwig Willdenow.
