Ockenheim
Ockenheim is a municipality in the district Mainz -Bingen, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the Association of Gau -Algesheim.

The wine is in Rheinhessen.

History
In 835 the town was first mentioned. The Liebfrauenstift St. Maria ad Gradus in Mainz held significant interests in the land of the place and made in return for pastoral care.
Through the development of new residential areas and an industrial area of the city grew and the original settlement form Ockenheim was changed.

The local council in Ockenheim consists of 16 council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 a proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Traffic
The community is conveniently located on the A60 and close to the A61. The B 41 through the town.
The breakpoint on the railway line Gau Algesheim -Bad Kreuznach was reopened in 1996. Ockenheim is integrated into the city bus of the town of Bingen am Rhein.

Leisure and sports facilities
The sports complex ' On the Kissel ' was inaugurated in 1990. Since then they have added a sports center, tennis courts, a barbecue hut, a boules pitch and a beach volleyball court, among others. In addition Ockenheim offers six classic bowling alleys.
2013, the old barn provides space on the football field with artificial turf was replaced.
