Odd Nansen
Odd Nansen ( born December 6, 1901 in Kristiania (now Oslo), † June 27, 1973 in Oslo) was a Norwegian architect and philanthropist, son of Norwegian statesman Fridtjof Nansen and co-founder of UNICEF.
Work
Odd Nansen founded in 1936 Nansen assistance to refugees and stateless persons. My office was closed in the fall of 1942 by the Norwegian Nazi -controlled authorities. Already in January 1942 Nansen was imprisoned, first in the Norwegian camp Grini ( to Akershus, near Oslo), and later in the German concentration camp Sachsenhausen, where he was liberated in April 1945.
In 1946 he co-founded the Children's Fund (UNICEF ).
