The Odeborn is a 21.2 km long, orographic left or northern tributary of the Eder in North Rhine -Westphalia, Germany.

Course

The Odeborn rises in Rothaargebirge Hochsauerlandkreis on the southeast slope of the Kahler Asten, the outside of the resin third highest and most famous mountain in northwestern Germany. Your source is located at Bright Place at 742 m above sea level. NN about 1.3 km north-east of Neuastenberg and 700 m southeast of the standing on the Kahler Asten - summit observation tower (as the crow flies).

Shortly after its origin the Odeborn flows past the post Meadows ski resort and mainly south through mostly forested areas. Then it flows through the district of Siegen -Wittgenstein through the villages Girkhausen, after coming in from right or north Dödesbach opens, and Wemlighausen where the approaching from the right or north-east flowing Schwarzenau opens.

Further downstream reaches the Odeborn the town of Bad Berleburg, in which the light coming from the right or north lice Bach ( lice ) opens. Then it flows into space land (southern district of Bad Berleburg ) a few meters south of the B 480 to 400 m above sea level. NN, thus accounts for 342 m height difference in the Eder. The Odebornmündung is located on the Eder river kilometer 144.8.

The headwaters of the Odeborn is located on Light Square, October 15, 2005, a stone marker with information board and course outline identifies the origin at the river. The inscription on the 4 -ton stone, covering:
