Geography
The Office is located in the southeast of the district Uckermark. The office area extends from Welsebruch in the north of the ground moraine with numerous lakes to the Oder with a share of the National Park Lower Oder Valley. The Oder forms the border with the Republic of Poland. East of The Office is the town of Schwedt / Oder, southwest of the city Angermuende.

History
The Office was established with 18 municipalities on 1 October 1992. Since then, there have been numerous mergers and incorporations: the municipalities Kummerow, Criewen, Zützen and Stendell were incorporated to Schwedt / Oder; the communities Briest, Schönow and Jamikow come to church Passow; Zichow with the former municipalities Fredersdorf and Golm took over as Gramzow; the communities Schönermark, Grünow Landin and together formed the congregation Mark Landin and finally came Felchow and Flemsdorf to the municipality Schöneberg.
Demographics
Since the end of the 19th century, the population stagnated in the area of today's Office or catfish. At the end of the Second World War it came by the refugees from the eastern territories to a population boost. Since then, however, the population falls. Also, the short rise after the turn brought no trend reversal. The forecasts anticipate a further significant decline in population.

Coat of arms, flag and official seal
The coat of arms was approved May 7, 2012 by the Brandenburg Ministry of Interior.
Blazon: " Azure, between two diagonally left, silvery - blue wave bordierten a fallen beam, oblique left silver catfish, accompanied above and below the division of a and in the middle of three golden water lilies. "
The Official Committee decided on 15 December 2011 for this coat of arms heraldic design of Frank Diemar and the adoption of the arms decided unanimously.
The flag is in the ratio 1:4:1 and dreistreifig in the colors red -white-red (red- silver-red ) with the Office of Arms in the center strip.
The stamp shows the official coat of arms and bears the following inscriptions: In the outer upper semicircle " Office Or catfish " in the outer lower semicircle " Uckermark " and in the inner lower semicircle " The Office Director ".
Economy and infrastructure
By the Authority area the federal highways B 2 and B 166 and the rail lines Berlin- Szczecin (together with the stations Passow (Uckermark) and Schönow ) and Angermuende - Schwedt with the station Pinnow (Uckermark).
