Ödeshög Municipality

Ödeshög is a municipality (in Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish province of Östergötland County and the historic province of Östergötland. The main town of the municipality is Ödeshög.

Geography

Much of the municipality borders on the lake Vättern.

Attractions

The Runestone Rök standing near a small local church.

In the monastery of Alvastra that exists only as a ruin today, the holy Birgitta lived for some time.

Ellen Key lived from 1903 until her death in 1926 in a self-designed house on the lake Vättern. The property, known beach, is a popular tourist destination.
