Oettersdorf

Oettersdorf is a municipality in the Thuringian Saale- Orla-Kreis. It is the seat of the administrative community lakes.

Geography

The areas of the district boundaries Oettersdorf now the north-western outskirts of Schleiz. They lie on a slight slope and on an elevated plateau of the East Thuringian Slate Mountains. History

The mention of the name Otthensdorph in a document dated June 24, 1302 the municipality took the occasion of the 700th anniversary celebration in 2002, however, it is questionable whether it was indeed the present Oettersdorf in the aforementioned village. Recent sightings were the first documented evidence of 24 September from 1291.

In 1525, during the Thirty Years' War ( 1618-1648) and in 1806 there was great devastation caused the place. In the year 1882 708 inhabitants were counted. On July 2, 1945 Oettersdorf was occupied by Soviet troops, some citizens were deported. The settlers increased in the years 1945 to 1946, the population of approximately 750 to over 1,000.

1923 managed the tenant Paul Doenitz the domain with 171 acres, plant area of Reuss younger line. They were dispossessed by the laws of the victorious powers of World War II. Economy and infrastructure

The largest employer is the HBS Elektrobau with about 500 employees. Other companies have settled north of the village in the industrial area on the main road 2.

Due to the transformation of agriculture found the peasants after the fall of new ways. Three re judges and the AG Agricultural cultivate the land. In the Agricultural AG about 1300 dairy cows are kept, together reach a capacity of 12 million liters of milk per year.
