Office of Scientific Research and Development

The Office of Scientific Research and Development ( OSRD ) was an agency of the U.S. government to coordinate research for military purposes during the Second World War and emerged from the NDRC.

The Director of the OSRD Vannevar Bush was directly subordinate to President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

On June 28, 1941, the OSRD officially took on the work and put it in December 1947 again.
