Office of Secure Transportation

The Office of Secure Transportation or OST is a U.S. agency based in Washington, DC, was established in 1975. She is responsible for the safe transport of nuclear weapons and the like material at the bottom.

The agency has 600 employees and is subordinated to the Ministry of Energy of the United States and the National Nuclear Security Administration. Since its foundation in 1975 she transported radioactive material over more than a hundred million miles without an accident in which the material was released (November 2010).

For employees, a strict regulations regarding alcohol consumption is considered. Eight hours before the start of service no one shall be consumed more. Between 2007 and 2009, this regulation was violated in sixteen identified cases.
