Office of Technology Assessment

The Office of Technology Assessment (acronym: OTA) was an agency of the United States, which advised the members and committees of the U.S. Congress in scientific and technical matters. OTA was from 1972 to 1995, and was the Scientific Service of the Bundestag comparable.

OTA was founded in 1972 by law. Within 24 years, 750 studies were created. At the time of closure in September 1995 was one of the means 143 employees and had an annual budget of 21.9 million U.S. dollars.
