The Iranian film Offside (Persian آفساید ) by Jafar Panahi playing on the edge of the ultimate football international match of the Iranian national team to qualify for the Football World Cup 2006 against Bahrain in the Iranian capital Tehran. The plot revolves around some women and girls who want to watch the game live in the stadium. German cinema release of the film was the 22 June 2006.

Action

In Iran, it is women and girls forbidden to attend a soccer match in a soccer stadium. The film is set on the edge of the crucial qualifying match of the Iranian national football team for FIFA World Cup 2006. Several women and girls dress up as boys to illegally but to get to the stadium. They are discovered and arrested. Soldiers who serve their military service, the women guard on the edge of the stadium.
