Ogawa (Nagano)
Ogawa (Japanese小 川村, -mura ) is a village in Shinano -gun in the north of Nagano Prefecture on the main Japanese island of Honshu.
Ogawa is a member of the Association of the " most beautiful villages in Japan" ( 「日本 で 最も 美しい 村」连 合, " Nihon de Mottomo utsukushii mura " rengō ).
Geography
Ogawa has an area of 58.07 km ² and 3,139 inhabitants (as of 1 April 2009).
It is a mountain village in the northwest of Nagano Prefecture. The center is located on 510 m above sea level, but the trains reach height in the north of the municipal territory altitudes of over 1,000 m above sea level. From Ogawa one has a good view of the Hida Mountains in clear weather. Neighboring municipalities are the cities ( shi) Nagano and Ōmachi and located in Hakuba -gun Hakuba village.
History
Ogawa was established on April 1, 1955 by merging the villages Kitaogawa ( Nordogawa ) and Minamiogawa ( Südogawa ). These two districts emerged as local authorities on 1 April 1889.
Traffic
Public transport is operated via a bus line. Connection to the railway network does not exist.
