Oğuz, also Oghuz, is a city in Azerbaijan. It is the capital of the district Oğuz. The city's name is derived from the Oghuz, of which the Azerbaijanis, Turks and Turkmen are descended. Formerly called the city Vartashen.

In the city live about 6,600 inhabitants. The Armenian population of the city has been displaced as a result of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict in the early 1990s to Armenia

In the center is a restored old synagogue from 1906 and a modern mosque. There is also a Heydar Aliyev Museum
