Oh Jung-hee

Life
Oh Jung- hee was born in 1947 in Seoul. She was the fifth child of four daughters and four sons. Because the Korean War between North and South Korea, the family Oh of Haeju in the North Korean province of Hwanghae to Seoul and Seoul had to flee again after Hongju in the province of Chungcheong -do. After five years of refugee life, the family moved to Incheon in 1955 and due to the transfer of his father in 1959 they moved back to Seoul. The experiences on the run and in the city of Incheon were processed in the yard of my childhood and Chinese street.
From 1960 she attended Ewha middle school. Because delayed body growth has been the smallest student in her year. From 1963 she attended Ewha high school. In 1966 she began her studies at the Seorabeol University with a major in literature. In 1968, the author her story The woman in the toy store the JoongAng Ilbo Literature Prize and began her career as a writer. In the first interview, she stunned the interviewer by saying that the name is not important, so they publish their works as anonymous, and never wanted to write on behalf of other stories. After the debut, she worked for various publishers and magazines, while she continued to write. In 1974 she married and three years later they had a son. In the same year she published her first anthology The river of fire. A year later, she moved with her husband, who was hired as a research assistant in Gangwon University, Chuncheon after, where she still lives today. In 1979 she received the Yi Sang Literary Prize and is now one of the more important writers of South Korea. Her works deal mainly with female main characters and their families. They were, inter alia, into American, French and translated German.
