Oh No (musician)

Oh No (real name: Michael Jackson ) is an American rapper and hip hop producer from Oxnard, who published her albums particularly on Stones Throw Records. His pseudonym was originally Oh No the Mischievous Rebel.

Life

Oh No is the son of soul singer Otis Jackson and the brother of rapper Madlib. He began rapping at the age of eleven years. One of his earliest features include investments in tracks on the 1999 album Sound Pieces: Da Antidote! of Lootpack. At this time, Oh No was a member of the formation Kali Wild.

In 2004 came with The Disrupt his debut album out on Stones Throw. Contributors have included J Dilla and Madlib. For his second album released in 2006 Exodus into Unheard Rhythms, he used exclusively by Galt MacDermot samples. Dr. No's Oxperiment from the year 2007 was an instrumental album, whose music was created with samples of Turkish, Lebanese, Greek and Italian psychedelic rock. In the same vein, the successor to Dr. No's Ethiopium hit of 2009. This time, Oh No availed at Ethiopian funk, jazz, folk, soul and psychedelic rock of the 60s and 70s.

Formed in 2010 along with The Alchemist Oh No Gangrene, the duo and brought the EP Sawblade EP and the album Gutter Water on the label Decon out.

As a producer, except for his own albums Oh No worked with, among others, also to publications from De La Soul, Murs and Wild Child.
