Oh Soo-yeon (novelist)

Oh Soo- yeon ( born 1964 in Seoul) is a South Korean writer.

Life

Oh Soo- yeon was born in 1964 in Seoul. 1994 her first novel was published in The National Day of the dwarf country, with the prize for young writers of the literary magazine "Hyundai Munhak ( Contemporary Literature )" was excellent. In 1997 the story was published the empty house. Starting in 1997, lived Oh Soo- yeon two years in India and 2001 based on the experiences of her trip to India was published novel The kitchen, in which they observed the man by "eating " as an act of man. She received her story The glory on earth the Literature Prize of the Hankuk Ilbo newspaper.

In March 2003, traveled as envoys of the writers' conference for national literature and at the same time as a member of Korean- Iraqi antiwar initiative in Iraq. In order to report on the Palestinian territory, she traveled with the activists of the ISM (International Solidarity Movement, International Solidarity Movement) by Palestine. Among the experiences of the trip to Iraq, she wrote a documentary in 2004 under the title " dies not, Abu- Ali ," was published.
